Yip Shing 6 is the third Modular Social Housing project. HKCSS commissioned HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre (HKSKH LMC) to be the service operator to manage properties, allocate flats to eligible residents and provide social service support. The project aims to foster synergy between diversified social support services and the community while promoting green living and community health by improving the living conditions of inadequately housed households. Through participative management, the project will also aim to facilitate healthy living, strengthen individual abilities and broaden the social network of the grassroots, thus leading to a more harmonious community for all.

Service Characteristics
The service theme of Yip Shing 6 is “Low-Carbon Green Living” and “Healthy Community”. The service operator will closely connect with social service centers nearby to provide physical and mental health health care services, family aid supporting services and employment support services.
As for community networking, the operator will facilitate social contact among residents to build neighborhood relationships in Yip Shing 6. She will organize various activities such as energy saving and workshops on waste recycling for residents to know each other. The operator will also make good use of the public area for creating green gardens and organizing social activities of community building for residents to meet, chat and learn from these activities. Eventually helps residents develop the neighbor relationship.
In order to accumulate social capital, the project will identify and develop residents to contribute to the community. The residents will be trained as "Floor Representatives" (社房層長), Mutal aid platform, "Zero Carbon Master" (零碳節約達人). These programme aim to transform the role of residents from service receivers to service providers and enhance their social participation. The residents will become one of social capitals of Kwai Chung District.
In order to enhance social support, the operator will provide various supporting programme for residents to facilitate the adaption of new social housing life. Including relocating support, Kwai Chung District tour and information seminar, co-purchase of household goods and saving plans. The operator aims to support the residents from relocating to living, further get insight into the community and fully utilize community resources and build up saving habits for tackling challenges.

Project Status
The project is currently in progress, the residents started to move in from December 2022. The residential period is up to 3 years.
