Trackside Villas is located at No. 4105 Tai Po Road, Tai Po Kau, in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Under the coordination and support of the Transitional Housing Task Force under the Transport and Housing Bureau, the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) signed an agreement with MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL) in 2020 to use Chek Seng House as transitional housing for a period of five years.
Trackside Villas has a total of 252 residential units, including 192 two-bedroom units in Block I and 60 three-bedroom units in Block U. As of January 2023, there are over 180 units available for use as transitional housing.
The HKHS is responsible for allocating 134 units, while the Society For Community Organization (SoCO) is responsible for allocating 51 units and providing community support services for the residents of 185 units.
For the 51 units allocated to SoCO, 3 to 6-person families will be accommodated in independent units.
The project is open for application now. Details as below:
Residence Requirement:
- Currently living in subdivided units, shanty buildings, rooftop houses, and other inadaptable living conditions, and only accepting applications from 3 to 6 persons household; and
- Applicants must have been registered on the waiting list for public rental housing provided by the Housing Authority for 3 years or more (the information of the applicant and other family members must match the information on the public housing application form); or Have an urgent need for housing; and
- Currently living with children aged 24 or below; and
- Receiving comprehensive social security assistance, textbook allowance (full or half levels), families whose monthly income limit for public housing applications and whose family income is not more than 75% of the median income;
- Willing to actively participate in community services and activities
- Low-income families will be given priority
- Families that have been on the waiting list for public rental housing provided by the Housing Authority for 3 years or more will be given priority
- Families with children who have been assessed to have special educational needs will be given priority.
